Tiger Shark Facts

Tiger shark is one of the most largest and dangerous specie of oceans. While talking about their habitat, they mostly live in warm and tropical parts of the world. Melanesia, Micronesia and Polynesia are the countries with the biggest population of tiger shark. Tiger shark spent most of its time in deep water; it only comes in shallow water when it’s hungry and searching for food. Like other sharks tiger shark is also hunted by man because of its meat, skin and oil.

Normally, Tiger shark can grow up to 3 to 4.9 meters long and weigh about 363 to 680 kilograms. Female tiger sharks are more in size than males; it is because they have to carry their young. Another name of the Tiger shark is “wastebaskets of the ocean” because they are not selective in feeding; they eat whatever they found in ocean. It is the second most dangerous species of sharks for humans.
